Rockville, MD. MFF Steve Batdorff, MFF Cliff Billingslea (DFRS), FF Tiffany Hein, Lt. Kirk Risinger, MFF Jason Vogt, and Lt. Jeremy Wade received the Silver Valor Award from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. The Valor Award was for their actions at a house fire in February of 2004. The crew conducted a search of a well involved two story detached dwelling without the protection of any hoselines. The crew began their search about the time the first due engine lost their water supply. The floor below, along with the floor they were operating on and attic area above them were well involved throughout their primary search. They subsequently located and removed an unconscious elderly female from the second floor.
The crew also received a Unit Citation from Chief Carr of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Department in October of 2004.
