Police from Montgomery County and fire and rescue squads from Montgomery and Prince George's counties responded to a two-car accident in Burtonsville Tuesday.

Authorities found one of the cars on its side when they arrived at the scene at Colesville and Greencastle roads shortly after noon. Police said two people suffered serious injuries and were flown to area hospitals.

Traffic in the area was diverted for a short time.

No charges have been filed at this time.
