Earlier this week, the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service celebrated the accomplishments of volunteer first responders and High School Cadets who completed EMT and Fire training through the Public Safety Training Academy over the past year.
We are incredibly proud to recognize the following members of The BVFD for reaching these major milestones and continuing their commitment to serving our community:
🚑 EMT Graduates
• Maria Gillespie
• James Jobe
• Kertina Fekadu
• Minhal Anjum
• Sydney Stohlman
• Aleesa Zirvi
• Gabriel Hernandez
• Avi Rodrigues
🎓 High School Cadet EMT Graduate
• Alexander Messina
🔥 Firefighter I & II Graduates
• Cameron Brown
• Victor Hernandez-Molina
• Justin Hua
These accomplishments represent far more than passing a class. Volunteer EMT and Fire training is completed outside of normal work, school, family, and station commitments, with classes typically held three days a week on nights and weekends for several months at a time. Every graduate balanced these demanding schedules while continuing to show up for their jobs, academics, families, and their community.
Please join us in congratulating these members for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to service. We’re excited to see all they accomplish as they continue their journey with the BVFD!
