
Chief Michael Ryman Re-designated as Chief Fire Officer
The members of the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department proudly recognize Fire Chief Michael Ryman on his recent re-designation as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).
This prestigious designation represents one of the highest levels of professional achievement in the fire and emergency services. The Chief Fire Officer credential is awarded to individuals who have been active for the last 3 years in addition to those who demonstrate excellence in leadership, management, and professional development, and who meet rigorous standards in both education and experience.
As part of the credentialing process, Chief Ryman’s qualifications were reviewed and validated by a panel of his peers and members of the Commission on Professional Credentialing. Through this process, he demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to lead within today’s complex emergency services environment.
